به‌روزآمدگی نمایش‌نامه مکبث اثر شکسپیر: تحلیل گفتمانی

هدف این جستار مطالعه اقتباس سینمایی نمایشنامۀ مکبث از منظر بینِ‌‌رشته‌‌ای در قلمرو ادبیات تطبیقی است. مطالعۀ اقتباس‌های سینمایی از آثار ادبی، شاخه‌ای در پژوهش‌های ادبیات تطبیقی است که در آن پژوهشگر تغییرات حاصل از تبدیل متن نوشتاری به متن دیداری را تحلیل می‌کند. اقتباس در خلا صورت نمی‌پذیرد و از گفتمان‌های غالب زمان و مکان تولید تاثیر می‌پذیرد. در این پژوهش گفتمان‌‌های غالب اقتباس سینمایی قرن بیست و یکم مکبث در اقتباسی با عنوان  اسکاتلند، پی‌‌ ای به کارگردانی بیلی موریست (2001) تحلیل شده است. بررسی و تحلیل دقیق گفتمان‌ها در این اقتباس نشان می‌‌دهد که چگونه اقتباس‌‌های سینمایی آثار ادبی از بافت اجتماعی و فرهنگی خود تاثیر می‌‌پذیرند. به‌‌سخن دیگر، موریست نمایشنامة قرن شانزدهم شکسپیر را در بطن گفتمان‌‌های دوران نوین، یعنی هزارۀ سوم میلادی، باز‌‌آفرینی و اثر نوینی را خلق کرده ‌‌ است. در این تحقیق از نظریه اقتباس لیندا هاچن و الگوی گفتگوی متن‌آمیختگی رابرت استم به‌‌عنوان چهارچوب نظری و روش تحقیق بهره برده‌‌ام. این مطالعه نشان داده که چگونه در دنیای امروز، قدرت‌‌طلبی، ثروت‌اندوزی، تبعیض‌‌ اجتماعی و بی‌‌عدالتی به شکل‌های مختلف هم‌چنان ادامه یافته است و چگونه صاحبان قدرت و ثروت با استفاده از شیوه‌‌های نوین و پیچیده‌‌تر، به استثمار فرودستان جامعه پرداخته‌اند. به سخن دیگر، موریست با اقتباس خلاقانۀ خود از نمایشنامۀ قرن شانزدهم شکسپیر برای بیان چالش‌ها و معضلات جهان معاصر استفاده و اثر جدیدی خلق کرده است.

modernization of shakespeare’s macbeth: a discourse analysis

this comparative study examines the relationship between the dominant discourses of the filmic adaptation of shakespeare’s macbeth in the 21st century. in scotland, pa (2001) directed by billy morrissette, the effect of the dominant discourses of 1970s are examined to demonstrate the ways in which the powerful economically repress the poor in the american society. a close analysis of the social, historical and cultural contexts in this adaptation shows the ways in which cinematic adaptations of literary works are influenced by their social and cultural contexts. in other words, morrissette has created a new work of art by recreating the seventeenth century shakespearean play within the context of modern time discourses. the theoretical framework of this study is based on linda hutcheon’s theory of adaptation and robert stam’s model of intertextual dialogism. the paper shows how in today’s world, power-seeking, discrimination and inequality persist and how the powerful draw on new and more complicated practices to continue their exploitation of the downtrodden.
