   Synthesis and spectral characterization of binuclear compounds of Cu(II) andNi(II) Schiff base of 2-Hydroxy-5-methylacetophenone and 1,2-Propylenediamine with alkali metal salts of trinitrophenol

چکیده    A series of new binuclear complexes of general formula mamapd.mbl weresynthesized by the interaction of stable cuii and niii metal chelate of schiff basederived from propylene diamine and 2-hydroxy-5-methylacetophenone with alkalimetal salts of organic acids such as 2,4,6-trinitrophenol. the structure of thesehetero-binuclear alkali metal complexes was discussed based on the elementalanalysis, ir spectra, uv-vis spectra, and magnetic measurement. the low valueof conductivity measurement shows the non-electrolytic nature. the ir spectralstudies suggested that copper(ii) and nickel(ii) metal chelate act as ligands andcoordination towards alkali metal salts takes place through a phenolic oxygenatom. the binuclear nickel(ii) or copper(ii) complex of the schiff base has squareplanar geometry. there is no change in the stereochemistry of the ni(ii) andcu(ii) in adducts with their metal chelate.
