چکیده    Γ-aminobutyric acid (gaba)is an amino acid that serves as the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain and has two major receptor subtypes (gabaa and gabab). baclofen is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (gaba) agonist used as a skeletal muscle relaxant. numerous strategies from 1962 until now, have been employed for the production of baclofen. in this study, an approach has been made to synthesize baclofen in an alternative way. the key steps involved the reaction of β (p-chlorophenyl) glutaric acid in the absence of solvent with formamide, for synthesize the intermediate compound β (p-chlorophenyl) glutarimid with very high efficiency and safer by-products than previous methods. all structures were characterized by ft-ir and 1h nmr.
