Study of the Reasons For Sponsorship of Football in Iran (A Meta-Analytical Study)

Purpose: the aim of the present study was to investigate thereasons for sponsors' support of football in iran.methods: the research method was meta-analysis in nature.the statistical population included all scientific sourcesreported regarding effective reasons for supportinginvestment in football in from 2012 to 2020., 11 studies thatmet the criteria for entering the meta-analysis were selectedfrom the statistical population. data analysis was performedusing cma2 and spss software.results: a total of 73 factors were extracted and classifiedinto seven main categories and entered the meta-analysisprocess. economic, media and advertising and structuralfactors would have the highest effect size. the cohen d indexwas designated as the effect size index. the result of cochrantest showed the heterogeneity in the size of the researcheffect; therefore, the size of the combined effect was based onthe random effects model which was equal to 0.91 (a largeeffect size). the results of rosenthal's fail-safe n test, fanneldiagram, width of egger origin and begg and masumdar rankcorrelation coefficient showed no diffusion bias error. also,the effect size was calculated based on subgroups due to theexisting heterogeneity and economic factors had the highesteffect size.conclusio: developing clear and practical rules, usingexperienced sports managers and removing barriers to thepresence of sponsors in football will attract more sponsorsand, as a result, will lead to the development of football.
