an overview of plasma application for improved oil recovery

Due to the growing need for oil and energy, today researchers are trying to use technology in optimal production methods of existing reservoirs by reducing costs. one of the discoveries of recent decades is the discovery of the fourth phase of a matter called plasma and its use in various industries. in this paper, we studied the use of plasma technology to improve the production of reservoirs and review research in this field. we examine the benefits and physical mechanism of the process. this method can be used as an enhanced oil recovery(eor) method as well as a method to improve oil production before oil (eor) methods. this method creates a gap in the formation by forming a high-energy plasma arc and releasing heat in a fraction of a second with a wave stimulus. this method creates fractures in the formation by forming a high-energy plasma arc and releasing heat in a fraction of a second with a wave stimulus.
