|
Most of iran's oil and gas reserves are in carbonate formations. studying low salinity waterfloods (lsw) effect seems very important and challenging in such reservoirs. strong adsorption of crude oil components on carbonate rock surface makes the reservoir oil-wet. impact of different parameters such as ph, zeta potential, types of ions, and salinity on wettability alteration (wa) during low salinity brine injection can be quite high. the presented study investigates and analyzes the mechanism of wa made by effect of determinant ions (mg2+, so42-, ca2+) on zeta potential. the study of zeta potential simplifies the understanding of the electrokinetic effect of minerals in the porous structure. this phenomenon is based on fluid distribution and macroscopic properties of reservoir fluid flow. in this research, we will review the parameters affecting the zeta potential such as. donnan, capacitance and pk and it will also be shown which of the parameters listed are most effective on the zeta potential.
