   Exploring the Strength and Challenges of Incorporating Technology in Language Learning Classrooms

چکیده    This article examines the existence of machine translation(mt) in the foreign language classroom. besides the fact that its use from the point of view of second language(l2) teachers is inappropriate, studies have also shown that l2 students use google translate (gt). no consensus exists as to whether the use of mt is a form of cheating. what opportunities and challenges are posed to l2 students and instructors by this technology? how can educating students about this technology's strengths and limitations turn some of the barriers into opportunities for learning? this study explores existing research on the use of mt and indicates the strengths and restrictions of this technology, describes teaching techniques of the twenty-first century aimed at enhancing both mt and alternative technology strengths, and proposes facilities for subsequent research intending to ensure the academic growth of learner following the can-do statements for intercultural communication by the american council on teaching foreign languages.
