چکیده    This study attempted to investigate the relationship between reading interests, mind-‎wandering, and reading comprehension of efl learners at upper intermediate learners. ‎in order to conduct this study, 90 efl learners studying at three language institutes in ‎karaj and tehran were selected. there were four main ‎instruments in this study: quick oxford placement test (opt) as homogeneity test, ‎mind-wandering questionnaire (mwq) by mrazek, phillips, franklin, broadway, and ‎schooler (2013), reading interests scale (ris) by dokmen (1994), and reading ‎comprehension test. after assuring their level of proficiency, the two questionnaires ‎were given to the learners. at the end, the reading comprehension test was given to them. this study ‎adhered a correlational design. analyzing the data revealed that there was a correlation ‎between reading comprehension and reading interest, i.e. the reading comprehension ‎scores increase as the reading interest of the learners increase. also, there was a ‎negative correlation between reading comprehension and mind wandering, i.e. the ‎reading comprehension scores increase as the mind wandering of the learners ‎decreases. ‎
