چکیده    In evaluating the story of “a giraffe and a half” by shell silverstein, there is a matter why the author's aim is to assume a giraffe and turn it into a giraffe and a half by stretching it and adding useless items and placing it in strange and somehow ridiculous situation and finally after all the objects removed, the giraffe goes back to its original size.since not only children but also adults find reading this story enjoyable, can it be said that the only purpose of reading this story, which is really remarkable in terms of rhythm and rhyme, is just for a pastime or there is something important behind this literary work. according to a survey of people in different age groups who have read this story, after reading this book for the first time, they are still interested in reviewing this book from time to time, and most of these people have no idea how to express this interest, but they are satisfied with the way the story ends and do not want to consider another ending while the giraffe is back to its original state is pleasant for them and none of them say they wish the story was in a new direction with that funny and strange situation and appearance of the giraffe. in response to these statements, in this article, we try stating human beings, no matter how much they desire changes in their appearance and conditions for acceptance by others, but ultimately the most want to return to the real self and live as if their existence in the way to reach their desired goal is to calm down and not to keep those around them satisfied.
