چکیده    This paper attempts to depict the status of females and their struggles in the patriarchal society through the movie suffragette (2015). this research is expanded upon postmodern feminism which sees both males and female’s perspective at once. the movie is based on the true history in 1912 london. this is much more than a film about women demanding to vote; it’s about women’s struggle to be heard and taken seriously both in home and workplace. the suffragette highlights the injustice, cruelties and discrimination that women struggled with it in the patriarchal society that assumes female gender inferior and the male one superior. the suffrage movement formed through mostly women to gain right for vote, equality and also equal chances and payments in workplace. to sum up this paper rejects male superiority and criticizes its errors through the suffragette movie. it asserts that superiority and success achievements are genderless and both males and females must have the same chances in various fields of life. furthermore, it indicates that patriarchal society exploits women both socially and economically. in other words postmodern feminism defends human rights and makes peaceful civilization. we all owe to the females of suffrage movement who sacrificed themselves and tolerated hardships, tortures and prison sentence to gain vote for women and a place in the political and social issues.
