investigating the effects of some physiological and motoric characteristics on shooting performance of air rifle athletes

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of some physiological and motoric characteristics on the shooting performance of air rifle athletes. in accordance with this purpose; 20 air rifle athletes (age: 15,75±2,20 years, height: 165±,06 cm, bodyweight: 49,99±12,43 kg) who participated in the air guns turkey cup and air guns turkey championships and ranked voluntarily participated in this research. in the research, the height and body compositions of the participants were measured and then hand grip strength, back and leg strength, heart rate, flexibility, vital capacity, static balance, dynamic balance, and reaction time tests were also conducted on participants. to determine successful shootings of participants, one (1) serial consisting of ten (10) shootings were performed. in the assessment of data; the kolmogorov-smirnov test was used to determine whether variables had normal distribution or not. pearson correlation analysis was applied for one serial shooting and score to examine the relationship between the measurements. simple linear regression analysis was used to examine the effect of measurement results on a series of shooting success. according to analysis results, it was found out that there was a significant and positive relationship between the scores of one serial shooting of the participants and some performance parameters which are expected vs. measured vital capacity, flexibility, handgrip strength of right and left hands, strength of back and leg (p<0,05). on the other hand, it was found that there was no statistically significant relationship between the other parameters with a series shooting scores of the participants (p>0.05). in conclusion, it was revealed that some performance parameters effect the shooting performance.
