Abstract    the present research examines the role of religious parties as a key identity-security infrastructure in strengthening the national security of the islamic republic of iran. adopting a thematic analysis approach, the study analyzes data gathered from interviews and observations using a bottom-up theme extraction process. this process comprised four stages: initial coding, formulation of basic themes, extraction of organizing themes, and identification of overarching themes across three levels; that is, individual, social, and national. at the individual level, the party serves as training grounds for committed human resources by enhancing moral and security resilience, introducing revolutionary religious role models, and imparting jihad-oriented concepts, thereby creating “invisible soldiers.” at the social level, establishing grassroots security networks through collective rituals, commemorative ceremonies such as rowzeh-khani, and intergenerational interactions strengthens social capital and reinforces collective cohesion. on the national front, the cultural-security activities of the party in generating a discourse of resistance and defending national values ultimately solidify the country’s cultural identity and bolster national power. the findings indicate that the interplay among the individual, social, and national levels produces a synergistic cycle that not only reduces overall security costs but also establishes an effective defensive mechanism against emergent soft threats. by presenting a “model of the identity-security synergistic cycle,” this research fills a theoretical gap in previous studies, offering integrative strategies to harmonize religious values with national security policies. moreover, this integrative model offers robust insights for policy formulation and academic debate, effectively bridging gaps between theoretical inquiry and practical strategies.
