چکیده
|
این مقاله به بررسی پوشش خبری انتخابات ریاست جمهوری 2024 آمریکا در رسانه های هند می پردازد. تمرکز مقاله به طور ویژه بر نحوه برجسته سازی اخبار مربوط به شخصیت ها و رویدادهای مرتبط با انتخابات ریاست جمهوری 2024 آمریکا در روزنامه تایمز آو ایندیا به عنوان یکی از برجسته ترین و پر تیراژترین روزنامه های منتشر شده انگلیسی زبان در سطح ملی در کشور هند است. رویکرد نظری مقاله، نظریه برجسته سازی و روش انجام پژوهش تحلیل محتوا می باشد. یافته های تحقیق بر روی 113 خبر جمع آوری شده در مورد اخبار انتخابات آمریکا نشان داد که برجسته سازی اخبار روزنامه تایمز آو ایندیا از نظر میزان پوشش خبری، جهت گیری مثبت و منفی، چارچوب تضاد و گمانه زنی در مورد برنده انتخابات به نفع دونالد ترامپ، نامزد حزب جمهوری خواه بوده است. همچنین نتایج مقاله نشان داد که این نحوه برجسته سازی موضع خود روزنامه بوده و متاثر از برجسته سازی بین رسانهای نیست.

Abstract
|
the primary objective of this paper is to investigate the modality of news coverage of indian media from 2024 presidential elections in the united states. the focus of the study is particularly on the agenda setting of the candidates and events related to the elections in the times of india as one of the most significant and most circulated english nationwide newspapers in india. the main theoretical framework of the article is agenda setting and the main method of conducting this research is content analysis. in total, 113 news items were gathered to be analyzed. the results of the study showed that the agenda setting of times of india news regarding the us election in terms of the rate of news coverage, the orientation of news in terms of being positive, negative and neutral and the existence of conflict and horse race framing was in favor of donald trump, the republican candidate. the results were significant by considering the point that there were no significant intermedia agenda setting in the coverage of us elections by times of india.
