Abstract    the importance of vegetation cover or land use as a dynamic and effective factor on biological conditions requires that accurate information is always prepared and changes related to it are checked. satellite images of landsat 7 sensors + etm and landsat 8 sensors oli to investigate changes in vegetation using vegetation indicators, perform pre-processing operations on the images of each sensor and define ndvi and evi vegetation indicators for each year and finally, by thresholding the mentioned indicators, the classes of water resources, low vegetation, medium vegetation and high vegetation were classified. the evaluation of classified maps based on ndvi and evi indices in each year using overall accuracy and kappa coefficient respectively showed that evi index (93.65 and 0.89, 95.86 and 0.91 , 96.33 and 0.92) in each year is higher than ndvi index. investigating the changes in vegetation classified based on ndvi and evi indices shows that the level of water resources has decreased by 0.51% in a period of 23 years, the level of low vegetation in 2000 was from 26 and 25% to increased by 28 and 27% in 2023, the level of mod vegetation in 2000 decreased from 16 and 17% to 12 and 13% in 2023 and the level of high vegetation in 2000 from 55.98 and 55% to 63. 58 and 60.59 percent have increased in 2023. investigating the process of changes in vegetation cover and being aware of its destruction process is one of the important data in planning and applying correct management in the protection and restoration of protected areas.
