Abstract
|
Advice is a part of educational literature and one of the most importantobjectives of poetry. Khayyam Neyshabouri and Abu al-Alla Moari are bothfamous poets in Persian and Arabic literature, respectively. In their poetry, they have dealt with human themes and invited to goodness. In some fieldsof thought and literature they have some similarities, but in others they aredifferent. The content of the poems of these poets is religious, social andphilosophical advices that reflects the conditions of society as well as themental and spiritual condition of the poets. Abu al-Alla has focused on thepractical aspect of religion, while Omar Khayyam has given new andspiritual meaning to words. Khayyam considers life in the present to be morevaluable than that in the past and the future; in contrast, Abu al-Alla thinksmore about the future and the result of work. In poetry, both poets havephilosophical advices about the value of the existence and the end of life, based on the themes of nihilism. This kind of thinking gives way to poeticdespair. The present article compares the advice in the poems of the Divanof Khayyam and the Lozumiat (necessities) of Abu al-Ada in a descriptiveanalytical manner.
