چکیده    Having social relationships is one of the basic needs of students. the purpose of this study was to investigate and compare emotional intelligence in two groups of popular talented students and isolated talented high school boys. the present study is an applied research and the data collection method is descriptive correlation. the statistical population was the talented male students of allameh hilli high school in rafsanjan. the statistical sample in this study included 30 talented male students who were classified into two groups of popular and isolated students based on the score obtained from the crown and marlowe social utility questionnaire. data analysis was performed using spss software version 23. also, the level of significance (0.05) has been considered. to assess emotional intelligence, bar-an emotional intelligence questionnaire was used, which is the first cross-cultural emotional intelligence questionnaire. the results showed that social utility in popular talented students is more than isolated intelligent students and increasing social utility increases emotional intelligence.
