Recently, environmental pollution and resource depletion, caused mainly by the rapid development of industries, put human life and the ecosystem in danger. therefore, advanced material as a photocatalyst has been synthesized both in academia and industry to overcome these challenges. various types of photocatalysts have been introduced; however, within the past decade, metal-organic frameworks (mofs) have attracted incredible attention to satisfy these challenges due to their organic components used for light-harvesting and acting as a charge carrier reservoir or as a co-catalyst. in this paper, mil-88b with three different metal ions (fe3+, al3+, zn2+) were successfully synthesized by using a solvothermal method with the same conditions. the optical properties of each mof have been investigated. it was shown that the spectrum of mil-88b (fe) displayed a better absorption band even in the visible portion, which can result in the generation of electron-hole pairs to enhance the photocatalytic activities. this study suggests a strategy for the preparation of environmentally stable mof as photocatalysts to eliminate various pollutants efficiently.

|
