چکیده    Attempts were made, in the present study, to indicate the accuracy of the prediction of orange-peel indices compared with the visual assessment equivalence of orange-peel. to this end, two byk parameters namely op and lw, together with opi, previously derived by the present authors were measured for the act visual standard panels. in order to compare the performance of each index, the correlation between visual values of the act standard panels and the corresponding prediction of each index was assessed by three statistical parameters, namely, coefficient of determination (r²), standard residual sum of squares (stress) and coefficient of variation (cv). the results show that the op and lw indices did not perform as well as the opi index. the opi index defined by the present authors achieved very satisfactory results as an orange-peel index [r2 =0.98; cv=6.9; stress=6.3].

Abstract    Attempts were made, in the present study, to indicate the accuracy of the prediction of orange-peel indices compared with the visual assessment equivalence of orange-peel.
