Goods dyed with fluorescent dyes are used in police uniforms, sweepers, warning signs, etc. this study attempted to focus on some important properties of regular fluorescent disperse dyes on polyester fabric. polyester fabric with four dispersion dyes in two shades of yellow and red has been dyed in eight different concentrations. the selected dyestuff was belonging to the methin and benzopyran class of fluorescent dye. this paper mainly aims to investigate spectral parameters such as the reflectance curve, k/s values (with kubelka-munk equation) and relative strength percentage with different concentrations of fluorescent dyes. different colourfastness properties like wash and light fastness were also assessed to evaluate the performance of polyester substrate dyed with fluorescent dyes.according to the experiments, it was observed that with increasing concentration, the brightness decreased, which was predictable, which can be explained by the fluorescent behaviour of dyes. also about wash fastness, it can be said that these dyes have very good wash fastness, but their light fastness is weaker than wash fastness
