چکیده    This article focuses on the modification of zno nanoparticles by gptms and their inclusion within epoxy silicone (ep-si) coatings. the coatings were exposed to the accelerated aging in a quv weathering test chamber and removed after pre-determined durations (0, 500 and 1000 h) for further characterization. the principal object is to take the benefits of zno nanoparticles in raising the long-term weathering performance of exterior nanocomposites. the influence of various loadings of modified zno nanoparticles (0.1%, 0.5 and 1wt. %) on the ep-si coating weathering stability was studied. all coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (sem), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ftir), contact angle, optical microscope (om) and gonio-spectrophotometer. the results demonstrated that while modified nanoparticles addition reduced the ep-si coating degradation, its lower loading (0.1wt%) had more remarkable protection (35% reduction in ∆e) which was chiefly attributed to the significant increment in uv shielding.
