Regarding the commercial importance of color appearance of colored products, measuring the colorimetric characteristics of colored objects is too important for various industries. there are variety of parameters affect the colorimetric attributes of objects, i.e., the type of applied colorants or pigments, the objects texture properties, the geometric characteristics, the substrate attributes, etc. in the automotive industries, depending on the geometric attributes, various devices are suggested to measure the colorimetric properties of automotive finishes. for example, the color characteristics of metallic and non-metallic panels are measured in different ways. consequently, it is expected to achieve the same results while the colorimetric attributes of the same type of colored finishes are measured with the proposed devices. in current work, the colorimetric characteristics of some non-metallic black panels were measured using two proposed spectrophotometers. the color-eye 7000 a and the sp-64 spectrophotometer were used to measure the reflectance spectra of black finishes over the visible wavelengths while the specular component of reflectance was included. the colorimetric attributes of non-metallic black panels were achieved over the cielab and cielch color order systems using the measured reflectance spectra under d65 standard illuminant and cie1964 standard observer. to compare the similarity of the results, the color difference values between the color parameters achieved from two measuring devices were calculated using the cie1976 color difference formula. the results showed that based on the achieved ∆l* and ∆e*ab, there are some significant differences between the color characteristics measured by applying two devices.

|
