In this study, an amphiphilic composite based on polyisocyanate functionalized graphene oxide (fgo) were synthesized by modifying graphene oxide (go) nanosheets with a -oh functional silicone based resin through covalently-grafted polyisocyanate (pi) bridges in one and two pots procedure in 25°c and 45°c. characterization by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ftir) and thermal gravimetric analysis (tga) revealed that pi and hydroxyl groups of silicone resin grafted on go successfully in one pot procedure in 25°c (fgo-1p-25°c). the tem images showed the two dimensional morphology of fgo with high surface area after modification. also the fgo-1p-25°c showed highest water contact angle (102°) in compared to other samples. capillary water absorption of concrete covered with the fgo-1p-25°c thin layer showed excellent waterproof performance compared to go. corrosion behavior of rebar in coated concrete, immersed in a 3.5% nacl solution, was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (eis) and polarization. results showed amphiphilic fgo-1p-25°c has excellent barrier protection against ions and water diffusion inside concrete during 58 days immersion. the new amphiphilic nano-composite coating showed excellent waterproof and anticorrosion properties on the reinforced concrete.
