چکیده    Carbon dots (cds) can be considered as a turning point in the nanotechnology due to their markedly features, such as eco-friendly and economically synthesis, fantastic optical features, biocompatibility, and etc. one of the impressive applications of cds is analytes detection, especially heavy metal ions detection that can play a vital role in recognition of environmental pollutants caused by industrial developments and human and animal diseases as a result of their toxicity. copper (ii) ion (cu (ii)) as a kind of heavy metal ion can be caused cu (ii) toxicity in environment and organisms’ bodies. in this research, we used pyrolysis method to synthesize multicolor concentration-dependent cds from 1 gr chitosan and 2 gr citric acid. after characterization of cds by dynamic light scattering (dls) and zeta potential analysis, optical properties of our multicolor cds were investigated by photoluminescence (pl) spectroscopy. to evaluate the process of cu (ii) detection by synthesized cds, we added suitable concentration of cds to that of cu (ii). morphology results of our cds confirmed the appropriate size and charge of our nanoparticles. moreover, optical investigation of our multi-color cds displayed two emission peaks at excitation of 360 and 420 nm, devoted to blue and green colors of cds, respectively. then, cu (ii) detection by our cds was scrutinized and this ion caused the fluorescence quenching of cds with low detection limit. its rapid-response and low detection limit of synthesized biosensor in this research can be designated as merits of our set upped biosensor

Abstract    Carbon dots (CDs) can be considered as a turning point in the nanotechnology due to their markedly features, such as eco-friendly and economically synthesis, fantastic optical features, biocompatibility, and etc.
