چکیده    Mica-based pearlescent pigments are widely applied in trends in fashion, plastics, cosmetics, automobiles coatings, automotive and other consumer markets, pigments that generate special effects like angle-dependent color have a growing economic significance and can be found in various industrial products and end-user applications, but they seem to be not explored by the ceramic industry. in this research, the synthesis potential of special effect pigments in the decoration of ceramic tiles was synthesized by organic sol-gel method and testing them into at least 2 compositions coating on mica then fired one hour in 800- 600◦c range of temperatures in the furnace. the pigments were characterized by ftir, sem and colorimetric parameters, effect coating pigment particles and the orientation behavior of mica and their thickness have been investigated. results indicate that kind and number of mica coatings effect on final shade of special effect pigment by sol-gel method. for example, in case of 2 layers of hematite and cobalt aluminate, lightness of h in different angles obviously increased in comparison of one layer and a* in 20 degree has been changed from 4.218 in case of one layer to 0.806 about 2 layers.
