چکیده    Color targets are used for many purposes. color calibration of digital cameras, scanners and printers, spectral sensors estimation are just a few examples of use of the color charts. despite many progress in developing these targets, there are almost no effort for defining a metric for designing such targets. using spanning theorem it was shown that the necessary and sufficient condition for having minimum error in sensitivity estimation is that the space of the sensors be covered with the samples reflectance subspace. the theorem was implemented using vora’s measure of goodness metric and the sensitivities was estimated using tsvd, dsvd and tikhonov regularization techniques. results showed superior performance of the proposed selection method as compared to the use of the traditional xrite 24 patch color target.

Abstract    Color targets are used for many purposes.
