چیستی دین‌شناسی علمی

دین‌شناسی علمی، به مطالعاتی میان رشته‌ایی گفته می‌شود، که دین را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد، و از منظر تجربی به مطالعه رفتار و تفکر دینداران می‌پردازد،  بدون اینکه بخواهد از عقیده خاصی طرفداری کند. از این‌رو با الهیات و کلام از این جهت تفاوت پیدا می‌کند. زیرا در الهیات و کلام به تبیین و دفاع از عقاید خاصی می‌پردازند؛ اما در دین‌شناسی علمی از نگاه برون دینی به توصیف و توضیح رفتار و عقاید دینداران پرداخته می‌شود. مسائلی را که در دین‌شناسی علمی مطرح می‌شود، می‌توان در پیرامون دو موضوع دسته‌بندی کرد؛ یکی بحث درباره منشاء دین و دیگری بحث درباره کارکرد دین. از نظر روشی نیز دو رویکرد اساسی در دین‌شناسی علمی وجود دارد؛ یکی روش تبیینی و دیگری روش تفسیری. هریک از این روش ها مبتنی بر مبانی و پیش‌فرض هایی هستند که به نظر می‌رسد بحث درباره آنها ضروری و لازم است. آنچه در این مقاله مورد نظر می‌باشد، تبیین چیستی دین‌شناسی علمی، اهداف و ضرورت ها، مسائل،  مبانی و پیش‌فرض های رویکردهای دین‌شناسی علمی است.

What is Scientific Study of the Religion

Scientific study of Religion; Interdisciplinary studies, which study religion, and empirically study the behavior and thinking of religious people, without wanting to advocate a particular opinion. Hence it differs from theology and Kalam in this respect. Because in theology and theology they explain and defend certain ideas; But in scientific theology, from a nonreligious point of view, the behavior and beliefs of religious people are described and explained.The issues raised in scientific study of Religion can be categorized around two issues; One is the discussion of the origin of religion and the other is the discussion of the function of religion. In terms of methodology, there are two basic approaches in scientific theology; one is the explanatory method and the other is the interpretive method. Each of these methods is based on principles and assumptions that seem necessary to discuss.What is intended in this article is to explain what scientific theology is, the goals and necessities, issues, principles and assumptions of scientific theology approaches.
