چکیده    Several studies have been conducted in which the effort of researchers had focused on the expansion and application of different epistemological approaches or research traditions in interdisciplinary studies; the studies which are called paradigmatic implication researches. the study domain of organization and management is not an exception, although this is not same between the subdomain of this study domain, for example in public policy making (ppm) in general, and science, technology and innovation policy making (stip) in particular, it hasn’t been considered by interests of researchers. one of the contemporary epistemological approaches is critical realist (cr). it has good potential for explaining and directing of study domains of social science due to its specific ontological-epistemological foundations. unfortunately, this approach in comparison of other similar epistemological approaches (such as positivism and interpretivism-constructionism) has received fewer attentions especially in ppm and stip. the current study has tried to explore several important implications that cr has for stip as process and as theory relying on its foundations and theoretical prospects. this exploration based on bhaskar's writings and opinions mainly. the research method of this study has been implemented with implication-research (ir) and part of validation of extracted elements or contributions was deployed by expert opinions

Abstract    several studies have been conducted in which the effort of researchers had focused on the expansion and application of different epistemological approaches or research traditions in interdisciplinary studies; the studies which are called paradigmatic implication researches.
