چکیده

Given the high importance and sensitivity of the grout curtain and its cost, determining a suitable range for estimating the depth of the grout curtain based on its effective parameters can be very fruitful.in this study, using fortran programming language, it was shown that by using pressure contours, velocity vectors, and the permeability of different sections of the dam, selecting the most suitable mixture composition in terms of washout grout for that location is fairly easy. using the modeling of dam's structure and foundation, a relationship was presented to estimate the optimal depth of the grout curtain, which depended on two parameters: water depth and base width of the dam, and its results are close to the results of previous empirical correlations, and it can be a more suitable criterion for determining the depth of the curtain. moreover, using numerical modeling with the help of geostudio software, it has been shown that as the depth of the grout curtain increases, the water pressure at the top side of the foundation increases and decreases at the bottom, and the head difference between two sides of the grout curtain also increases. it was also found that single-row curtains performed better than multi-row curtains in relation to the total length of the grout, its role in the pressure-drop of the perforated water, and reducing flow capacity. finally, it was determined that the heel of the dam is a more suitable place for the construction of grout curtains.
