Opportunities and Threats of the Cognitive Sciences of Religion

The increasing development of cognitive sciences and, consequently, cognitive sciences of religion (csr) has led to the formation of serious and new questions and ambiguities about the origin of religion, what religion is, and the origin of religiosity. prior to the csr, all of these issues and proponents and opponents of religion clashed in the field of philosophy and theology, but after the advent of the csr, another field was defined that even went to biology and neuroscience to identify the origin of religiosity and the vmat2 gene, called introduces “the god gene as the cause of religious tendencies, and the activation of this gene is directly related to spiritual intelligence (sq). in other words, the more one uses this gene and this intelligence, the more talent there is for theism, and vice versa. but the main question is, what image of god in these religious studies, that may be headed by the csr, are created and biological and physical theology, what opportunities and threats do they pose to traditional theology (found in the abrahamic religions)? it is commonly assumed that csr based on the evolutionary sciences, so it is an anti-religious field, but this article shows that csr is also able to provide good responses to positivist criticisms of religions.
