the theory of conjunction between faith and reasonwith a glance at the problem of the existence of god

Our belief about the relation between faith and reason has a serious impression on our religious beliefs especially on the existence of god itself so that an inappropriate approach in this issue can end to invalidate any individual and social belief in our religion and its learnings.although there are many verses and ahadith about both faith and reason, i felt the lack of a formal theory in islamic thought in this argument. so i developed a theory for the first time and called it: “the conjunction between faith and reason”. the theory was introduced at a local university conference and appreciated and applauded by some thinkers. so i decided to offer it at this international conference for the first time.in this paper, i have criticized western theories. investigation on the so-called christian rationalists such as thomas aquinas reveals that they cannot be categorized as real rationalists. but we can see that their rationalism leads to fideism. as the reason cannot support human beings in the very fundamental beliefs of christianity such as the trinity, incarnation, or salvation by jesus. we should remember that rational reasons lead us to the existence of only one god not anymore. so why should we satisfy ourselves with an idea that conflicts with our reason?the major fault about them is the lack of an appropriate analysis of humanity. i have also divided between two different questions: “should we have a rational reason for any religious belief (such as the existence of god)?” and: “what is the relationship between religious faith and reason? “. then i have tried to answer both of them in agreement with islamic ideas and theology.i have tried to answer these questions considering religious ideas especially the problem of the existence of god. meanwhile, i have developed a clear definition of faith. and argued that the religious faith is between two rational stages: rational analysis for comprehending the religious ideas and rational supervision on acting according to those ideas.because of the unity between the existence of god and his divine attributes, the real believing in his existence is impossible without believing in his attributes.
