چکیده    One of the most significant phenomena in 21st century philosophical thought bases on contradiction: the atheistic theological thought. david kellogg lewis (1941-2001) is probably its founder. with a few short articles, he defined his position and laid the foundations of a thought that goes back to him, but often without even mentioning his name. firstly, i will summarize david lewis arguments in three of his articles, where he deals with fundamental points in christian theology, in order to show that the first and second articles contradict each other in a logical perspective, while the third reflects lewis thought directly. the third article is posthumous, published by a friend of lewis and not revised by the author. the argument in this third article is strongly atheistic and specifically anti-religious, but is mainly imaginary, not logical. i think that this text condenses the real motivation of lewis atheism, a motivation that the reading of the first two articles would never detect. in fact, arguments brought up by lewis in the first two articles become clearer by equating ‘absolute subject = god’, so that one can see their logical inconsistency. secondly, i would like to show why making theology outside of monotheism is very possible. lastly, i would like to point out what may be the core value of theological dialogue (for a specifically monotheistic theology) with the thought started by lewis. my conclusion is that lewis can help purify philosophical and theological thought by differentiating between the thought that we have and the knowledge that we are.
