چکیده

In this study, the effects of grout curtain performance, and vertical component of earthquake on the stability of the arch dam abutments are investigated. for this purpose, a 3-d finite element model of bakhtiari dam, including dam-foundation-reservoir interactions, is developed and the abutment stability of wedges are investigated by the londe method. the obtained results indicate that uplift pressure can play a key role in abutment stability analysis. also, considering the vertical component of ground motion is an important parameter affecting the abutments stability of arch dams under earthquakes.
