research on supply chain management and control: a critical review and recommendation

This study investigates how management control decisions influences a supply chain setting. environmental uncertainty, feedback cycles and strategies are major challenges in supply chains and production. from this perspective, control theory is an important research avenue in operations and supply chain management. we briefly survey the applications of control theory to management problems in supply chains and operations areas. our analysis is based on bridging the fundamentals of control systems to supply chains and operations management. given the importance of supply chain control, we decided to conduct a secondary research to propose studies that has been done so far on strategic control of the supply chain. based on the findings of this study and previous literature, we concluded that the concept of simmons control, despite its strategic importance, has not yet been addressed in the supply chain control sector, and could be an important topic for future research.
