supplier selection through a hybrid mcdm-qfd method: a case study in mapna group

Sourcing and procurement are two strategic aspects of any organization whereby they can reduce production and material costs and increase the quality which all of them lead to another to increase the organization’s profit. supplier selection is an important process in supply chain management which helps organizations to achieve this goal. in this paper, a new customer-oriented and qualitative approach is presented to investigate the supplier relationship management in the supply chain and obtain suitable technical criteria for evaluating organization’s supply chain requirements. for this purpose, a systematic method including a total quality management (tqm) tool (i.e. quality function deployment (qfd)) and a multi-criteria decision making (mcdm) technique (i.e. analytic hierarchy process (ahp)) is employed to specify the mentioned technical criteria. then, the suppliers are ranked by taking advantage of the simple additive weighting (saw) method. the proposed model is implemented to a case study taken from mapna group located in iran. the results show that, this model decreases the cost of the incorrect selection in future and improve the supplier selection process in the way of choosing the best ones related to the evaluation criteria.
