چکیده
|
Translation studies has developed exponentially and has broadened its scope toother fields such as semiotics. in this context, intersemiotic translation, asproposed by jacobson (1959), is of prime importance since little attention hasbeen paid to this area from an ideological angle. the present study aimed atexploring illustrations made based on the slogan black lives matter in order toinvestigate both the influence of ideology on illustrations in the media and theapplicability of translation theories on illustration. results showed that ideologyand gatekeeping are two factors that significant influence illustration designing.moreover, data analysis proved that in the context of news, like translation, translation theories are applicable to illustrations.
