investigating the relationship between translation trainees’emotional intelligence and their creativity in translation

Creativity is a concept that is difficult to define and even more difficult tomeasure. the aim of this study was to examine the possible relation of emotionalintelligence of translation trainees and their level of creativity in translation. forso doing, 71 undergraduate translation students participated in this study. fordoing the study, the participants were asked to fill the emotional intelligencequestionnaires. they were also asked to translate 30 english sentences intopersian. the analysis of this study was done using spss (22) and smart pls (3.0)software. the findings indicated that although there was no general correlationbetween emotional intelligence traits and translators’ creativity in translation,some of the emotional intelligence traits like emotion perception wasdemonstrated to have significant effects on the creativity of translator intranslation.
