Abstract
the article attempts to explore and explain the main issue of accurate understanding of the names and attributes of god with a rational approach and a comparative research method of descriptive-analytical type. and based on the perspectives of augustine and mulla sadra shirazi, the names and attributes are explained so that along with their accurate understanding, it strengthens the faith and ultimately corrects the behavior of the learners. thinkers in every era have introduced god with names and attributes. before the manifest religion of islam, thinkers introduced god as an unchanging and indestructible god, of course, in the form of no effective connection with the world; but saint augustine introduced god as an eternal being (eternal), transcendent, pure good, powerful, omniscient and absolute in all respects and the wonders of the world, including: order, beauty, change and evolution, indicate that this world and its wonders must be the creation of such a god. mulla sadr, unlike all the sages before him, started from the truth of existence to prove the existence of god; because he considers existence to be an objective, single and simple truth. he considered existence to be doubtful and the differences of existence to be intensity, weakness, perfection and imperfection. he called the highest level of existence, which is without imperfection and need and infinite in all respects, god. o people, you are poor to allah, and allah is the rich, the praiseworthy. (al-fatir/15)” and this concept of god and his attributes is different from the concepts of god that exist in other divine religions. both sages have stated attributes for god, including being generous, being the sustainer of essence, being eternal and eternal, and being pure goodness; the most famous of which is his being generous
