بررسی اثر عوامل اقتصادی و غیراقتصادی بر عملکرد محیط‌زیست: مدل پنل‌دیتای فضایی برای کشورهای حوزۀ خلیج فارس

امروزه عملکرد محیط‌زیست، مورد توجه گسترده‌ای قرار گرفته است. مسائلی همچون آلودگی هوا، گرمایش زمین، نابودی زیستگاه‌های طبیعی، تهدید تنوع زیستی، بحران کم‌آبی و بیابان‌زایی از جمله عواملی مسائلی هستند که آینده بشر را تهدید می‌کنند.حجم فعالیت‌های نفت و گاز کشورهای حاشیه خلیج فارس، از جمله بسترهایی هستند که توجه به عملکرد محیط‌زیست این حوزه را نیز برجسته می‌سازند. از همین روی، مقاله حاضر به دنبال بررسی اثر عوامل اقتصادی و غیراقتصادی موثر در عملکرد زیست‌محیطی کشورهای حوزه خلیج فارس است که عوامل اقتصادی نرخ رشد اقتصادی، درجه بازبودگی اقتصادی، شدت انرژی و عوامل غیراقتصادی شهرنشینی، دمکراسی، جمعیت، توسعه سرمایه انسانی و توسعه‌مالی را با استفاده از مدل پنل‌دیتای فضایی مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد تا آثار این تعامل را نیز آشکار سازد. جامعه آماری هشت کشورحوزه خلیج فارس، مشتمل بر کشورهای ایران، امارات متحده عربی، بحرین، عراق، عمان، عربستان سعودی، قطر و کویت است که دوره زمانی 1998 تا 2018 را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد. یافته‌های تحقیق، نشانگر معناداری اثرات فضایی مربوط به توسعه مالی، بازبودگی تجارت و شهرنشینی می باشد.

Examines the Effect of Economic and Non-economic Factors Affecting the Environmental Performance of the Persian Gulf Countries, Spatial Panel Data

Nowadays, environmental performance has attracted widespread attention, and it is mentioned that issues such as air pollution, global warming, habitat destruction, biodiversity threat, water scarcity crisis and desertification drastically threaten human future. The volume of oil and gas activities in the Persian Gulf countries are among the platforms that also highlight the attention to environmental performance in this area. Therefore, this article examines the effect of economic and noneconomic factors affecting the environmental performance of the Persian Gulf countries. The economic factors that we selected to investigate are growth rate, degree of economic openness, energy intensity; and the noneconomic factors we took into account are urbanization, democracy, population and financial development. Considering trade relations between the countries of the Persian Gulf, the spatial panel data model is used to take into account the effects of such interaction. We selected 8 Persian Gulf countries including Iran, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait for this article. To demonstrate the relationship between economic and noneconomic factors for selected countries, we chose the period 19982018. The findings indicate significant spatial effects related to financial development, business openness and urbanization. Findings showed significant spatial effects related to financial development, business openness and urbanization.
