چکیده    Background and aim: plants are non-moving organisms and are constantly exposed to a variety of environmental stresses. temperature is one of the factors influencing geographical distribution, quality and crop production. when exposed to low temperatures or elevated temperatures, plants respond to changes in gene expression patterns and protein production. heat shock proteins, found in plant and animal cells, are induced in many stresses to prevent the accumulation of degraded proteins and in the folding of polypeptides and proteins. methods: in the present study, members of the hsp90 gene family were identified in maize, sorghum, soybean and barley plants using bioinformatics tools and their protein properties, evolutionary relationships and gene structure were investigated. results: of the 101 identified protein sequences, only 84 had the domain of this family. according to the phylogenetic study, the members of this family were divided into three groups. the first, second and third groups had 94, 3 and 4 sequences, respectively. the localization of proteins in this gene family indicated that these proteins are active in the nucleus, cytoplasm, and endoplasmic reticulum, and their molecular weights varied from 12321/22 – 153268/19. conclusion: this bioinformatics analysis on hsp90 gene family members in four plants can provide groundwork for practical tests and future functional studies. it is expected that this gene could be used in plant manipulation and breeding programs aimed for tolerance enhancement to abiotic stresses especially heat stress.
