   Aberrant Expression of Circulating Mirnas (Mir-140 and -193b) in Colon Carcinoma Patients

چکیده    Background and aim: introduction: colon cancer is considered as a heterogeneous disease, characterized by different biological and phenotypic features which make its diagnosis and treatment challenging. regarding the significance of tgf-β signaling, here we aimed to determine related circulating mirnas (mir-140 and mir-193b) in serum samples of colorectal carcinoma patients. methods: materials and methods: this study included 30 colorectal carcinoma samples and 25 healthy individuals. total rnas was extracted from serum samples using trizol reagent. after polyadenylation and cdna synthesis, expression levels of mir-140 and mir-193b were measured by real-time pcr. results: results: results showed down-regulation of mir-140 and mir-193b in samples derived from colorectal patients compared with the normal individuals. a correlation between expression levels of these mirnas with some clinical characteristics of disease such as disease stages was also observed. conclusion: conclusion: these results suggest that this micrornas can be considered as a tool for early diagnosis in colon carcinoma. also, this approach may suggest a non-invasive diagnostic biomarker for colorectal cancer.
