چکیده    In this paper, a modeling methodology is applied to calculate and compare the failure analysis of a polycrystalline cadmium sulfide/cadmium telluride (cds/cdte) solar cell with the insb absorber layer and step doping grading of absorber and back surface field layers. on the one hand, by inserting the insb absorber layer and step doping grading of absorber and back surface field layers, the output power is increased by about 48% compared with the conventional solar cell with similar dimensions. on the other hand, this structure shows an average of 10x and 55x improvement in time to failure (tf) than that of the similar cds/cdte/insb/cdte solar cell and conventional solar cell, respectively. the results indicate that the polycrystalline cds/cdte/insb/cdte solar cell with step doping grading of absorber and back surface field layers seems to be the most optimal choice for converting the solar energy in high efficiency and reliability photovoltaics systems.
