manufacture of faujasite-type zeolite y from different sources of natural raw materials

Bentonite was used as a silica source for zeolite syntheses this study investigated production of zeolite y from different sources of bentonite the experiments were carried out at aging time (24 h), crystallization time (24h) and crystallization temperature (98°c) properties of synthesized zeolites were investigated by x-ray diffraction the xrd patterns confirmed that zeolite y has been synthesized successfully the si/al ratio of the synthesized samples were 35, 39, 361 and crystallite size was around 37 nm the results showed that the zeolite y synthesized from pure bentonite has no competitive phase, but the samples produced from industrial bentonite have trace amount of zeolite nap
