Phosphonates are active surfactants used in a wide range of applications, including corrosion and scale control, lubrication of metals, industrial purification processes and particle dispersion diethylenetriaminepentatakis(methylphosphonic acid), dtpmp, is commonly used in oilfield for scale inhibition in this research, ca-dtpmp nanoparticles were synthesized in the presence of the c19tab (ctab) surfactant by chemical precipitation method the characterization of ca-dtpmp nanoparticle determined by ft-ir, xrd, and sem the xrd pattern confirmed the crystallinity of the nanoparticles the sem images of nanoparticles showed that the morphology and surface structure of the nanoparticles is plates and the size of the nanoparticles is about 30-35 nm
