a mathematical model for prediction of controlled drug release from ring cap tablet

Ring cap tablets are oral controlled release drug delivery systems these tablets modify the release of drug by using insoluble bands which are circumferentially applied to tablet a new two dimensional model has been developed to predic t the release of drug from these systems erosion takes place in several steps, but in most situations degradation appears to be controlling step and it is assumed as a first order reaction in this research tablets with different numbers, width, and place ment of bands are modeled and compared the results show a nearly constant release rate for tablet with 2 bands and this one is closer to zero order release this model can be a mathematical framework for future simulations
