چکیده
|
In this paper, we report a separation of 12% mol/mol carbon dioxide-nitrogen separation through the pressure swing technique# to this aim, coal-based activated carbon was used as an adsorbent in a fixed bed column at different pressures# a model based on ldf approximation for the mass balance and momentum balance was proposed which can satisfactorily reproduce experimental breakthrough data# the model consists of a set of coupled partial differential equations and these equations are solved by the numerical method of lines in matlab software# the effect of operational pressure changes and bed height was investigated on adsorption performance# it was concluded that pressure has a significant effect# the saturation time increases as the pressure rises# also, changing the bed height from 0#25 m to 0#4 m leads to a higher saturation time
