چکیده    In this work, an attempt was made for the first time to omit cu(ii) ions from its aqueous solutions using silica nanoparticles immobilized on zeolite 13x granules (szx13) synthesized by sol-gel method# scanning electron microscope (sem) analysis was used to characterize the structure of nanoparticles immobilized on zeolite 13x granules# adsorption process was performed in a batch laboratory-scale with emphasis on the effect of various parameters such as kind of adsorbent, ph, adsorbent dosage, copper initial concentration, and contact time on the adsorption efficiency# to investigate the performance of szx13, sorption experiments were also conducted using silica nano particles and zeolite13x as sorbents and results were compared together# scanning electron microscope analysis indicated that the immobilization process of nano particles was successfully carried out and the immobilized particles have a nano-size distribution# results showed that adsorption capacities were increased from 1#5 to 2#7 mg g-1 with the increasing of initial metal concentrations from 30 ppm to 50 ppm, for szx13# optimized values to achieve the highest capacity were found to be as follows: ph 6, the adsorbent (szx13) dose of 10 g# l-1, and the initial copper concentration of 50 ppm#
