In this study, the photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-dcp) was investigated in aqueous solution using sno2 nanoparticles as a nano photocatalyst in the presence of uv light# the uv/vis spectrophotometer was used to analyze the concentration of 2,4-dcp in the solution# the degradation was carried out under different conditions including the photocatalyst amount, initial concentration and ph of the solution# synthesized sno2 nps were characterized using x-ray diffraction (xrd)# the photocatalyltic activity of the sno2 was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of initial concentration 10mg/l of 2,4-dcp# optimum value of catalyst dose was found to be 0#05 g/l and degradation after 3h was 47%# the degradation of 2,4-dcp followed a first-order reaction kinetics#
