With a membrane photobioreactor (mpbr) considered as a wastewater treatment process, a good understanding and adjusting of operating conditions, particularly ph values and microalga biomass concentrations, is essential for system implementation# in this experiment, chlorella vulgaris was cultivated within and the mpbr under different operating conditions to remove nitrate and phosphate from pulp and paper wastewater# the result showed that the ph value of 7 with initial biomass concentration of 1 mg/l removed the nitrate and phosphate by 58% and 41%, respectively# however, ph values of 10 and 4 were not beneficial for photosynthesis activity and nutrient uptake#
