In current study, two kinds of composite nano-adsorbents (tio2/pva and ceo2/pva) were synthesized using the casting method and applied for the batch mode equilibrium selenium adsorption processes from aqueous solutions# se adsorption experiments have been performed under the best ph conditions reported in the literature (3#36), at ambient temperature over 24 h to ensure equilibrium# the xrd results demonstrated that in both sorbents, the metal-oxide nanoparticles are successfully coated on the polymeric basis; in addition, scanning electron microscopy (sem) showed that both metal oxide particles were perched on polymer base but tio2/pva adsorbent had better dispersion of particles# bet analysis also showed that tio2/pva adsorbents have higher porosity at micropore and mesopore scale# se concentration measurement was carried out by icp analysis and tio2/pva showed a little higher adsorption capacity than ceo2/pva may be attributed to the more dispersed distribution of ti-containing nanoparticles and more extended porosity of the first sample#
