چکیده    Controlling greenhouse gases as key factor in emerging problem of industrial today’s world, global warming is an inevitable issue due mainly to environmental awareness and sustainable production approach# there are various sources for greenhouse gases emissions from natural sources to human activities# burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gases emissions# gas flaring as a part of production of oil, the main source of world’s energy is emitting considerable amount of greenhouse gases which can be avoidable by introducing safer methods such as flare gas recovery systems to prevent emitting greenhouse gases to environment# the purpose of this paper is to recognize the best method through three introduced alternatives for flare gas recovery systems (namely: 1) gas-to-liquid (gtl) production, 2) electricity generation with a gas turbine and, 3) compression and injection into the refinery pipelines) based on economic, environmental, safety and easy to operate & maintenance criteria# these methods aim to minimize environmental, safety and economic disadvantages of burning flare gas at the asalooye gas refinery# analytical hierarchy process (ahp) is applied to investigate the best flare gas recovery technique# this study is considered important to assist in providing adequate knowledge in mapping out monitoring strategy for better control implementation and scientifically motivated environmental management# finally, gas compression ranked at first priority among other approaches#
